IKEA is getting some very positive publicity from dog lovers. The massive Swedish furniture and homegoods chain has locations all over the globe, including Catania, Italy where this story takes place.
Shopper Martine Taccia recently visited the store on a rainy afternoon. As she perused the displays she came upon two stray dogs lounging on the rugs. It seems the staff have taken to inviting the pups inside to stay warm and dry.
Taccia quickly pulled out her phone to record the heartwarming scene. Her mother uploaded the video to Facebook last week where it has since been viewed more than a million times!
According to the The Dodo, the dogs receive more than just shelter from the elements. Store employees and customers also provide them with food and plenty of love. Occasionally, an IKEA pooch even finds a permanent home with an adoring shopper!
Despite the chain’s popular line of pet furniture and accessories, the Catania dogs seem to prefer the lush rugs in the living room and bedroom displays.

IKEA also demonstrated their love for dogs in 2014 when they partnered with animal welfare groups in Singapore to help adoptable dogs find homes. The Home For Hope project involved placing cardboard cutouts of local shelter dogs along with information on how to adopt throughout IKEA stores.
