Hallmark Channel American Rescue Dog Show Winner

Tails were wagging over the announcement that the Hallmark Channel was airing the first American Rescue Dog Show, a Westminster style dog show that celebrates what makes shelter canines special, and now we have a winner.

Jackie the 11-year-old Labrador retriever mix took the top prize at the 2018 competition, which aired on Feb. 19, with her owner Debbie Bloom.

Bloom and Jackie were at the show representing A Purposeful Rescue, a non-profit shelter based in south Los Angeles.

Earlier in the show, before the Best in Rescue round, Jackie won the Best in Senior group.

This is an especially big achievement for the graying dog, who was at death’s door just a year ago. The rescue was dropped off at a kill shelter by her previous family and was on the euthanasia list, when Bloom decided to take a chance on the pooch and brought the dog home to her family.

Jackie now lives with two kids and three other rescue dogs, all of whom bring out the senior pup’s youthful side. She adores swimming, snuggling and keeping a toy in her mouth at all times.

Congrats, Jackie!
